This year, we are about to see a completely new version of the world’s most famous and best-selling car of all time. The 2020 Toyota Corolla is about to come completely redesigned. After the introduction of a completely new Corolla Hatchback, it is time for a sedan version.
Compared to the previous generation, it will come with many improvements. Count on new styling, better driving characteristics, new engines, more comfortable cabin and much more. Of course, this carmaker pays a lot attention to hybrid models, so count on a completely new system in the offer.
- Attractive styling
- Superb fuel economy
- Comfortable seats
- Full load of safety systems
- A hi-performance version would be a nice addition
Just like every redesign, this one will also bring a lot of novelties in terms of aesthetics. The new 2020 Toyota Corolla will completely follow the brand’s newest design language, so count on the pretty much same front end as in the hatchback version.
When it comes to the rear end, the new Corolla won’t feature just new aesthetics but longer overhang as well, which will provide better cargo volume. Still, the most important novelty is a new TNGA platform, which brings much better driving characteristics.
The new model rides and handle better and also features much better overall efficiency. Toyota definitely made a big progress in this aspect.
Another aspect that will bring big improvements is the interior design. We are pretty sure that the overall layout will be pretty much the same as in the new hatchback model. That would mean the same dashboard design, which is highlighted by a large, tablet-like 8-inch touchscreen.
Besides a new look, the cabin also features much better quality. Most materials are soft on touch but still promise excellent durability. New seats are another interesting novelty for this redesign. Compared to the previous generation, the new ones feature much better ergonomics and overall comfort.
Traditionally for Toyota models, the 2020 Toyota Corolla will also come with a full load of standard safety features already in most basic versions, which isn’t the case with biggest rivals like Honda Civic, VW Golf and similar models.
When it comes to engines, the 2020 Toyota Corolla will keep some units from the previous generation, but also introduce new ones. When it comes to gasoline engines, the base 1.8-liter unit with around 140 horsepower. A new 2.0-liter unit with around 170 horsepower will be in the offer too, as well as a small 1.2-liter turbo-four with around 115 horses.
When it comes to hybrid powertrains, a familiar system based on a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with around 122 horsepower. There is also a new hybrid system based on a 2.0-liter engine, with a max output of 180 horsepower and superb fuel economy.
