The current generation of the iconic roadster has been around for about four years but it looks like the company doesn’t plan to make any important changes until a complete redesign. The current generation is on the market since 2015 and it continues to represent this legendary nameplate in the best possible way.

Just like previous versions, this one also offers spectacular driving experience. Excellent handling, powerful engine and lots of style are the things that you can definitely count on with this roadster. The 2020 Mazda MX5 won’t feature many changes. The overall design will definitely remain the same, though we could see a couple of tweaks in terms of standard equipment and similar things.

Exterior

2020 Mazda MX5. review

In terms of the exterior design, the 2020 Mazda MX5 definitely won’t change. Moreover, we probably won’t see any important change until a complete redesign. This roadster is quite distinctive, compared to rest of the company’s lineup.

It features pretty sharp headlights design, which doesn’t have too many similarities with the current KODO styling philosophy that characterize other models. On the other side, it offers the same amazing engineering, starting from a familiar N platform that delivers spectacular driving experience in this case.

As we already mentioned, the next year won’t bring any notable change, except possibly few more color options.

Interior

2020 Mazda MX5. interior

On the inside, this car looks great as well. Simply, it features all the needed qualities of a sports car. Materials are good, while the dashboard styling looks pretty upscale. It is also quite simple, typically for sports car. Still, the things that makes this car so amazing to drive is super-low seating position, which has been the Miata’s trademark for almost three decades.

Just like previous year models, this one will also be available with either soft or retractable roof design. Keep in mind that the RF version would cost you additional $7.000.

Engine

This small roadster recently came with a nice power boost. With additional 25 hp, its output now goes around 181 horsepower, which seems like a perfect measure, considering the model’s weight and overall size. Of course, it is the same, 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, which besides a lot of power also delivers a pretty good atmospheric sound.

Some rivals like Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ may have more power, but this one definitely offers a much better driving experience.

2020 Mazda MX5 Release Date and Price

We don’t expect any important change for the 2020 Mazda MX5, which indicate it should hit the market sometime late in the year. Also, the price should remain pretty much the same, which means around $26,000 for the base model.
