After ten generations of the model, 2020 Chevrolet Impala comes as slightly improved, waiting for the redesigning in following years. Do not forget that the last redesign happened in 2014 and nothing particularly changed since then. On the other hand, Impala should be able to compete with the best in class, since model fulfills every possible condition to be on the first place of full-size sedans list.
- The model is on new platform.
- There are three engines as optional.
- The cabin could be better equipped.
- One of the engines is too weak for this class.
There are no many changes in the design of 2020 Chevrolet Impala, at least not in invisible parts. There are speculations that it could be made on new modular E2 platform, originally made in GM. In that case, Impala could be closer to Buick LaCrosse, in shape and design. However, those changes will not significantly change the appearance and design of the car. There should be a similar massive and aggressive front end that contains large front lights and wide bumper on the front. The rear end has also wide and recognizable trunk door, with simpler but impressive rear lights.
There are only a few changes in the cabin of 2020 Chevrolet Impala as the opposite of the current model. Expected changes are mostly in materials that the manufacturer has used for seats and sides of the doors. When it comes to technology, there are very important improvements in safety system. Cabin equipment comes as improved in every part, allowing to Impala competing with Toyota Avalon.
There would be three engines that come as optional with 2020 Chevrolet Impala. Even though the base model includes maybe a little bit underpowered four-cylinder 2.4-liter petrol engine with 200 horsepower of strength. the manufacturer will not replace it, however, but it should undergo a few important improvements. However, there should be offered a more powerful and surely better for this size of the car 2.0-liter turbo four-in-line petrol engine with a maximum of power measured at 250 horsepower. In case that you still feel it weak, there is the strongest, 3.6-liter V6 that produces amazing 305 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. All of these engines come along with the new nine-speed automatic transmission.
2020 Chevrolet Impala Releasse Date and Price
Although there are significant changes in design and body shape of the 2020 Chevrolet Impala, it is actually the same model as we were able to see the year before. For that reason, the price of the new Impala will not be significantly changed either. Expect that the standardized model could cost $28,000 while the higher trims go over $32,000 and more. Releasing date will be in the first half of the year.
