GM started with a complete renewal of its SUV lineup and this includes the famous luxury SUV as well. The all-new 2020 Cadillac Escalade is about to come with lots of novelties. We are about to see a whole palette of new design solutions, starting from a new platform, new styling and a bunch of other novelties. All in all, this redesign should make the new model able to keep the pace with the recently redesigned Lincoln Navigator, which has been the arch-rival for decades. Expect to see 2020 Cadillac Escalade in the second half of next year.
- Completely Redesigned
- Standard independent rear suspension
- Luxurious cabin
- Powerful engines
- High price tag
- Tough competitors
Of course, the most important novelty of the 2020 Cadillac Escalade will be a new platform. Like the rest of the GM’s SUV lineup, it will also ride on the new T1 architecture, which is about to bring novelties in many aspects. The new model will be bigger, but also lighter. Of course, we count on a completely new styling as well. Without any doubt, the new 2020 Cadillac Escalade will use the recent Escala Concept as inspiration. Of course, this refers to the front end. On the other side, the overall shape shouldn’t be too much different from the current model.
As we already mentioned, the new 2020 Cadillac Escalade will grow bigger. Latest reports suggest that we are about to see a vehicle that features 4.7-inch longer wheelbase and an additional 6.5 inches in overall length. This will definitely solve some of the issues that characterized the current model. This primarily refers to the third row of seating, which should feature more legroom now, definitely enough to accommodate adult passengers. Speaking of the comfort, an independent rear suspension is a certain thing and it will be available already in base models. Of course, count on a completely new interior layout, with a new dashboard design. Some of the things we can count on are finer materials, more styling and lots of latest tech features.
Under the hood, the 2020 Cadillac Escalade will feature something more efficient. We are about to see a new 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers around 550 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. The current 6.2-liter could arrive in hi-output version. This would mean the same version that powers models like Chevy Camaro and Corvette, an engine with 650 horsepower. Both engines will come in a pair with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
2020 Cadillac Escalade Release Date and Price
Most likely, the new 2020 Cadillac Escalade will hit the market in the third quarter of the next year. The current model features a starting price of around $78,000 and we are pretty sure that the new model won’t go far away. Besides Navigator, tough
