The Verano is one of the smallest vehicles in the company’s range. The original version came in 2010 and we already saw one redesign. That happened four years ago, which indicates that the 2020 Buick Verano should come with familiar design characteristics.

Some would recommend a mid-cycle refresh, but the fact is that the current model won’t be in production for too long time. We expect to see another redesign in a couple of years, this time with a completely new design, with no relation to other models.

Exterior

In terms of base design characterists, the 2020 Buick Verano is expected to contine in the same way. The current generation has been around 2015 and it shares pretty much all of its characteristics with Opel Astra. Practically, it is nothing more than a re-badged version of the popular German model.

It comes in two bodystyles, either as a 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback. Considering that Opel is no more a part of General Motors, we are pretty sure that the Verano will be redesigned in near future. For this occasion, it will come as a completely new vehicle, designed by Buick itself. We expect that the new generatio will also be designed primarily for the Chinese market, but we won’t exclude the U.S. version either.

Interior

The cabin of 2020 Buick Verano is also about to continue in the same way. We are about to see an interior design that features lots of quality materials, while the overall layout and dashboard are pretty much identical to what we can see in the Astra.

Despite the good interior quality, the cabin somehow seems a little bit less opulent from what we used to see in Buick vehicles. On the other side, there is a pretty long list of standard features, which could be expanded with a couple of novelties in the next year.

Engine

This is definitely the stronges aspect of the vehicle. There are two powerful and pretty efficient turbocharged units in the offer. Base models are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo-four, which delivers 167 horsepower and comes in a pair with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Higher trims come with a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four engine, which delivers around 250 horsepower and comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are very efficient and feature pretty high mpg ratings.

2020 Buick Verano Release Date and Price

There are no bigger changes to come for the 2020 Buick Verano, so we expect to see it sometime late in the year. When it comes to the price, base models will cost around $25,000.
