The Land Cruiser has definitely been one of the most popular SUVs coming from Toyota. According to the information we have got, the next-generation Land Cruiser has been on its way to hit the roads as a 2019 model. The concept of the new Land Cruiser made its official debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show and ever since then the fans have been eagerly waiting for it.
When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser, we can say that this model is going to make its appearance as a luxurious off-roader with larger dimensions. Namely, the new Land Cruiser will be wider and its wheelbase will be longer. This simply promises more space and comfort inside its cabin, but also better safety and stability. It has been said that this SUV will use a body-on-frame architecture. So the platform of the new Land Cruiser will not change, but the carmaker will definitely try to improve its chassis and general characteristics. Besides high-strength steel, Toyota will use some lightweight materials, such as aluminum, in order to save some weight. The chassis will be lighter, but also stiffer, which will additionally improve the overall performance of this model. The new Land Cruiser will definitely appear more modern and attractive than its predecessor, trying to abandon that well-known boxy design as much as possible. Its recognizable and traditional features will undergo some significant changes and improvements, mostly in the front fascia. The next-generation Land Cruiser should become a main rival to models such as Lexus LX and Cadillac Escalade.
The 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser should keep its 5.7-liter naturally-aspirated engine that delivers around 400 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and get a four-wheel drive. The other possible option could come with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that also hits around 400 horsepower.
Although the release date has not been confirmed, the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser should be expected in the market by mid or late 2018. Its price will start around $80,000.
