2019 Ford Transit should not be as much attractive as functional, as we used from Ford’s large vans, but it still has some features which will be attractive to buyers. However, the main change is in term of engine strength and type.
There are few interesting changes in the design of 2019 Ford Transit, but those are mostly in details and grille. The van is almost the same blue egg as before, with recognizable Ford’s gridded grille and wide air intake on the bottom of the front end. The rear end is slightly higher, which is not that usual on vans like this and squared, with flat roof and truck door that connect making literally a cube. However, when we see that shape of the car we know that the manufacturer provided large cargo space, so outside design is not always important.
There are many changes in the cabin of 2019 Ford Transit from the last model, mostly in term of technology. According to the manufacturer, there will be high-technology that is not expected in these types of the car as well as improved devices taken from the last model. Some of the things are adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and high-intensity-discharge headlamps. When it comes to design, the manufacturer has not changed it a lot, except the wider second row of the seats, modernized dashboard and additional space in the truck.
The biggest changes will happen in engine options for 2019 Ford Transit, as the manufacturer is convinced that their resolutions save the fuel and increase the strength and speed of the vehicle. The main change is a 1.5-liter diesel engine four-in-line engine with only 150 horsepower but 200 pound-feet of torque. However, that is not its main advantage. The best number when it comes to the engine of Transit is its fuel economy and it is measured at 30 mpg highway. There will be another engine in the offer, 2.0-liter petrol unit with 169 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. Even the engine is weaker than 2.5-liter in the last model, the manufacturer claims that equality in power with the last model comes from the improved eight-speed automatic transmission.
2019 Ford Transit Price and Competitors
The final releasing date for 2019 Ford Transit is not clear by now, but it will not be before fall of this year. Even though there are not many similarities with other vehicles from the class, Transit could compete with Mercedes-Benz Metris, Nissan NV 200 and RAM Pro Master City. The price is surely highly competitive – it is around $24,000 for the base model.
