It has not been officially confirmed, but it seems that another muscle car with a long history in the American market is coming from the Dodge family to make its debut as a 2019 model. It will be the new 2019 Dodge SRT Barracuda which besides its new platform offers many other innovations to its fans.

According to the information that our team has got, the 2019 Dodge SRT Barracuda will appear as a midsize muscle car and it has been already looked upon as a successor of the Challenger model. However, it will be more modern and smaller in dimensions than the Challenger, due to its new G platform that this car will be based on. It is the well-known Alfa Giorgio platform that has already been seen on its models such as the Giulia. It is a rear-wheel-drive chassis that will be made of lightweight materials, mostly aluminum, and that will be another innovation in terms of Barracuda’s new body. The reduced weight has become a trend of next-generation cars and it significantly improves the acceleration and total performance. We have not got much information about the exact exterior features, but you can probably expect a new chrome grille, redesigned bumper and a new set of wheels. Both the front and the rear lighting will be using the latest LED technology. The next-generation SRT Barracuda will be available as coupe and a convertible, at least it has been planned so.

We have already mentioned that the 2019 Dodge SRT Barracuda will come with smaller dimensions, but don’t worry. Due to its new platform, this fact will not affect the cabin which will be pretty much spacious and able to perfectly accommodate up to four adult passengers. The cabin is also expected to be comfortable, covered in high-quality materials and more functional, especially in terms of trunk space. Technology inside the new Barracuda will also be largely upgraded so you can expect an 8.4-inch touch-screen display with the latest infotainment system and modern features such as navigation system and various types of your smart-phone connectivity. Safety systems and driver assist features such as airbags, park assist and rearview camera should be included as well.

Several options have been discussed when it comes to engine of the 2019 Dodge SRT Barracuda. The base model will probably use a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with 270 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Another option that has already been seen in Alfa models includes a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that hits 300-405 horsepower. Finally, the high-performance SRT Barracuda is most likely to come with a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that is expected to produce up to 500 horsepower and more than 500 pound-feet of torque.
