It seems that the second model of the sixth generation Regal has been on its way to hit the market as a 2019 Buick Regal model. According to our sources, the Regal will be offered in two body styles and it will offer some minor refreshments in terms of design, but also under the hood.

When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Buick Regal, you probably should not expect anything revolutionary to happen. On the contrary, the new model will remain mostly the same as the current one, undergoing some minor changes and improvements. The new Regal will keep using the same GM’s E2 platform that it will be shared with models such as the Chevrolet Malibu and the Opel Insignia. Speaking of Insignia, these two models have already been compared in terms of exterior design and the new Buick has apparently borrowed some features from Opel. It has also been said that the Regal will be lighter than its predecessor since the carmaker will use lightweight materials in its chassis construction. It will also appear bigger in dimensions and come with longer wheelbase which will provide more space inside the cabin. As we have already mentioned in the intro, the Regal will be offered in two body styles and it will probably offer one or two new exterior colors.

Due to the longer wheelbase that we have already mentioned, the 2019 Buick Regal will provide a more spacious cabin that can accommodate up to five adult passengers. The seats will be comfortable and covered in high-quality materials, even leather in higher trim level. Also, the driver’s seat will be power-adjustable in 8 ways. It has also been said that the interior of the 2019 Buick might offer one or two new color combinations. The driver will also get a touch-screen display with the infotainment system and some of the latest features such as wireless charging, Wi-Fi connectivity, sound system, Apple Car Play and Sirius XM, at least in higher trim. Lane-keep assist and lane departure warning are just some of the safety systems and driver assist features that will be included.

When it comes to engine that the 2019 Buick Regal will be using under its hood, there has been more than one option. The first one, probably found as standard, could use a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four that delivers 163 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The other, more probable option includes a 2.0-liter turbo four with 260 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The new Regal should get an eight-speed automatic transmission.
