The fifth generation of Audi A6 has been recently caught during the testing session and these spy photos have revealed lots of good news and improvements in terms of design, technology and engine options. The next-generation mid-size luxury sedan should hit the market by the end of this year as a 2019 Audi A6 model.

Although the prototype of the 2019 Audi A6 has been covered in camouflaged, the spy photos could still reveal the most distinctive changes and updates that this model will undergo in terms of exterior. When it comes to exterior, the new A6 will strongly resemble the latest cousins such as A7 and A8, especially in the front fascia. The A6 will also share the platform with these models, although modified. It will be the MBL platform which will provide lighter and stiffer chassis. The carmaker will use aluminum and other lightweight materials in order to save some weight. Besides being lighter than its predecessor, the new A6 will also appear more aggressive and definitely better in terms of equipment and technology. The sedan will get a sharper and wider hexagonal grille instead of the previous rounded one. You can also expect a new set of headlights that will be wider and sleeker. The new massive bumper will reveal large air intakes. The side profile of the A6 will remain mostly unchanged. In the back part of the vehicle, you will once again notice that the taillights and the whole rear area resemble the latest A7 and A8. However, the taillights will be placed higher and get more angular design.

The cabin of the 2019 Audi A6 will show some serious improvements, especially when it comes to materials and technology. You will notice that lots of these luxurious features have also been taken from the A7 and A8. The interior of this sedan will be spacious and comfortable, but headroom and legroom will not change compared to the current model. On the other hand, you will get more space for your cargo. The driver will simply love a modern dashboard with Audi’s Virtual Cockpit. There will also be two touch-screen displays with the latest infotainment and entertainment system.

The 2019 Audi A6 will use either a four-cylinder or a six-cylinder engine under its hood. One of the possibilities includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that delivers 252 horsepower. The other one comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 and a possible hybrid system that together hit 340 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid option known as the ‘e-tron’ is quite possible. On the other hand, higher and performance-oriented trim levels such as S6 and RS6 could use a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. The new Audi A6 will be mated to a seven or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2019 Audi A6 Release Date and Price
