The Kia Soul represents a compact vehicle originally launched in 2008. We have seen two generations of the model so far. The 2018 Kia Soul will be offered with three engine options. The base engine will be a 1.6L I-4 DOHC capable of producing 130 hp and 118 lb-ft of torque. The second engine option is a 2.0L I-4 DOHC that is good for 164 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. The base engine can be coupled to either six-speed automatic or 6-speed manual shifter, while higher trim levels can get a 6-speed automatic gearbox only. Fuel economy of both engines is estimated at 27 mpg. Besides these two engine options, there will also be a AC syncronous permanent magnet electric motor which makes 109 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque.

2018 Kia Soul Price and Release Date

The price of the Kia Soul won’t be significantly changed. Namely, the base model will be priced around
$18,690 (according to Top Speed) which means that the Kia Soul will remain the most affordable small vehicle on the market. Higher trim levels will be affordable too. The car is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2017.
