Infiniti has quite a few cars on the US market so it would only be natural for them to have on the market a three row crossover. The 2018 Infiniti QX60 is a refined, well mannered and quite efficient crossover which offers a nice balance between technology and price. It has been first released back in 2012 as the JX35 and it is expected to be updated with the New Infiniti QX60 which will not be an all new model like many people expected but it will be a certain upgrade over the current version. It is expected to receive a slightly different look, new engines and quite a few interior upgrades.

The biggest change over the ongoing model is going to be the complete deletion of the hybrid powertrain which has been carried over unchanged from the Pathfinder. While it is reasonably powerful it is not all that efficient. In fact, it is worse in terms of fuel consumption than the Touareg diesel which is quite sad for the car. In order to solve some of its issues, Infiniti is said to replace it with a smaller 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 mill which would come from Mercedes. While this engine will not be able to match the 26 MPG in the city of the hybrid, it will certainly get a better than 28 MPG on the highway. On top of that, it will provide a similar amount of power and more torque, all while costing a lot less which should be a nice tradeoff.

The top of the range engine will remain the current 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V6 which is currently good for 265 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. In the 2018 Infiniti QX60 the engine may be upgraded to around 290 horsepower in order to have a similar output to that of the Maxima. Both engines will be equipped with a CVT gearbox in order to save as much fuel as possible but only the V6 will be available with all wheel drive.

Inside the cabin, the QX60 should also receive quite a few upgrades over the current model. Firstly, the insulation of the car will very likely be upgraded massively in order to make it comparable with that of its competitors. This is because the current model is quite lacking and it is noisier than even some much cheaper cars which is a bit disappointing. On top of that, the materials on the base model will be slightly better and the equipment level will also increase slightly. The base model will now include a 9 speaker audio system with USB and line-in connectivity, heated and ventilated power front seats and even a new 7 inch screen for the infotainment system which will also act as the rear view camera monitor.

The exterior of the 2018 Infiniti QX60 will be slightly changed so it will better fit Infiniti’s current range of cars. In order to do that, the front end will be revised with a new grille, a pair of slightly more aggressive headlights as well as a completely new front bumper. The wheels will also receive new designs across the range and the back of the car is likely going to be updated with different LED tail lights.

2018 Infiniti QX60 Release Date And Price

Just like before, the new model should start right around $42,000 which is quite a bit more than the average of its class but this is a luxury crossover so it makes up for the extra price with technology. The release date is going to be at the North American Auto Show and the car will go on sale in the fall of 2017 so it still is a few months away.
