The Buick Grand National has a long history in the market of luxurious limousines since it was first released in the 1980s. According to the information our team has got, the Buick fans will be satisfied to know that the new Grand National will soon make its debut as a 2018 Buick Grand National GNX model. We also expect the high-performance edition of this model known as Grand Buick GNX.

The new 2018 Buick Grand National GNX will appear in the market as a four-door sedan and it will keep its glamorous and classy design. Its high-performance version, the GMX that we have already mentioned, will be offered as a two-door coupe, but we will talk about it some other time. The first innovation about the new Grand National comes from the platform. As far as we have been informed, this car will be based on the new platform known as Alpha instead of its older one – Epsilon II. Such a platform the new Buick will be sharing with some next-generation Cadillac and Chevrolet models. Another interesting fact is that the Buick will use strong but lightweight materials, such as aluminum and carbon fiber, in constructing the chassis of the new Grand National. So the body will come with reduced weight which will have lots of benefits, of course. The new Grand National will be available in several body paint options. Its lighting system will use the latest LED technology and the whole vehicle will appear more modern, stylish and a bit sportier.

When it comes to interior of the Buick Grand National, the earlier models might have been known for a bit cramped space when it comes to back seats. Well now, with the 2019 model, this issue will be solved and improved, so you can expect more headroom and legroom. Spacious and comfortable cabin will be furnished with high-quality materials such as leather on the seats. Technology will also be upgraded so the new Grand National will provide a large LCD touch-screen display with the latest infotainment system and options such as navigation, audio system, satellite radio, USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot.

Two options have been discussed when it comes to engine that the 2019 Buick Grand National will use under its hood. It might be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be able to deliver around 272 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The other possibility includes a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 321 horsepower and 274 pound-feet of torque. It has not been confirmed yet whether the engine will be mated to a six-speed or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
