After the incredible 675LT supercar, the 2017 McLaren 675LT JVCKenwood Concept comes as a joint enterprise of two giants McLaren Automotive and JVCKenwood to transform a barely-street legal coupe into a dazzling machine showcasing speed and the cutting-edge technologies.

So far this is only a concept which made its debut at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show but we feel confident that, if not the car itself, than surely the technologies it features in time will find their way into production cars. While the boosted 675LT’s drivetrain remained out of bounds, the changes affected the interior and a little bit of the exterior.

Exterior and Interior

Coming with design language of the 675LT intact, including the sweeping race car inspired lines and aerodynamics, the 2017 McLaren 675LT JVCKenwood Concept brings silver stripes on the sides as well as the hood and roof. The massive air vents on the sides and the sharp spoiler in the front fascia, in addition to the side skirts and super light alloy wheels, plus the adaptive rear spoiler, are all recognizable details carried over from the forerunner. However, the side mirrors are replaced by rear view cameras, which work together with a rear camera mounted above the number plate, effectively improving blind spot monitoring. You may well ask what’s the next step after this. High resolution display units for windows?

Inside, the 675LT’s cabin comes out in the overall move to functionality. However, the technology enhancements installed in it are simply mind-blowing. Take for instance, the new wheel inspired by that of the McLaren P1 GTR. Mounted on it are control buttons for the Heads-Up display, which replaced the instrument cluster. Instead of the instrument cluster, the dashboard has received a cooling vent. Calypsho Orange and Carbon Black Nappa leather covers the dashboard and the seats including a blue contrast stitching.

The 2017 McLaren 675LT JVCKenwood Concept does not offer any big surprises when it comes to the powerhouse, which is still the mean 3.8-liter V8 packing a 666 horsepower and 515 pound-feet of torque punch. The transmission coupled to the engine is still a crisp seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The acceleration is 2.9 seconds for the 0 to 60 mph sprint, the top speed is 205 mph.

2017 McLaren 675LT JVCKenwood Concept Price and Release Date

As we stated, the 2017 McLaren 675LT JVCKenwood Concept is not likely to go into production, but its technologies may well find their way into production model in a foreseeable future. If, however, it were ever to make the production line, the pricing would be close to a million US dollars.
