2019 Subaru Forester is a fifth generation of the model that brings some changes but also remains all attractive and interesting details. We were able to see spy photos and could recognize the shape of the Ascent, but with few characteristics that are recognizable on old Foresters only. The chassis now has many curves and lines, with sharp edges and dents on the sides, giving to the vehicle important uniqueness.
The platform of the 2019 Subaru Forester is enlarged from the last model, so it is now for 1.2-inches longer and has for 1.4-inches more legroom in the second row. With new 5.3-inches in width, the vehicle got even 76.1 cubic feet in loading room, which is more than before. But the vehicle is visibly larger and aggressive, with many curves and dents, so it could compete even with much more luxury SUVs in the class. The front end has gridded large grille and large LED lights, with the metallic bottom, while the rear end is sharp and long, and has a wide spoiler on the rear window.
2019 Subaru Forester offers great and modern roomy interior that is extremely attractive for the class. Depending on the trim version the cabin has a 10-way power-drive seat, exclusive gray interior, keyless access, remotely climate control, and Starlink Service that allows to the driver starting of the engine without keys. Design of the cabin is maybe too crowd and confused, but that is only at first glance. The wide dashboard has buttons and commands with touchscreen and large center cluster. The cabin is made of a combination of brown and dark grey leather, with chromatic details.
It is expected that 2019 Subaru Forester will be equipped with the same engine that force all Foresters. That is 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder with direct injection that produces 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. However, there is another option with the engine and that is 2.0-liter petrol unit with 250 horsepower of strength. Whatever engine is, it will be paired with Lineartronic CVT transmission. There should be few trim versions, like Base, Premium, Limited, Touring, and a new Sport, but every trim offers different fuel economy and performances.
2019 Subaru Forester Release Date and Price
2019 Subaru Forester is still not released, but the manufacturer will surely do that by the end of the summer. The price of the last year model was $23,000 for the base model with the possibility to grow to $36,000 with all equipment, so we expect that new model should be in the same price range. The competitors are usual for this model and class and include Honda CR-V, and Ford Escape, which are similar in design, engine strength and the price.
